Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to you know that CurrClick has Penny Gardner’s Italics – Beautiful Handwriting for Children as their “Pick of the Week” on sale for $7 vice $10. This is “Italic handwriting instruction within a ‘Charlotte Mason’ framework (see Home Education, pp. 235-236). We’ve used this for grades 1-3 but it is for all ages – I’m learning italics along with the kids.
Best,
Richele
RenelleParticipantI do the same thing when ds9 works on penmanship so do I. It was harder than I thought.
Italics Beautiful Handwriting For Children works in well with Getty – Dubay Italics as well. We have been using G-D Italics. The e-book version would be wonderful for reproducing, even at it’s full $10 price tag.
Warmest wishes, Renelle
thehauserfamilyMemberThanks, I passed on getting a handwriting for this year due to the prices of them. This one looks easy enough to use for all the kids.
suzisueParticipantThanks for the information – I just picked up my copy from CurrClick, and I am looking forward to starting this with my children! In case anyone is interested – on Penny Gardner’s website http://www.pennygardner.com/italicsbk.html there are links to youtube instructional videos for the book.
RebekahyParticipantWow, is this all inclusive and reproducible for multiple children???? It seems too good to be true – I love the idea of printing my own practice pages as opposed to buying lots of consumable workbooks for my FOUR kids. I was going to get the Getty Dubay workbooks – already have the used teacher’s manual – do I need those as well or will this stand alone? It looks very easy to teach – is it? I am not good at complicated programs with extensive teacher involvement or prep time.
Thanks!
Rebekah
RenelleParticipantI think it is stand alone and you can reproduce for each child and it is simple. We do use the G-D Italics books ourselves because they are cheap but i only have 2 children. I have both and they are simple to teach. I’m big on simplicity Rebekah, so I’m sure you would be happy with it!
Warmest wishes, Renelle
