We are planning on doing module 4 next year. Is it in process of being updated as well? Just wondering if there will be a new one by the fall. Also wondering if the Guerbner books are in the plans for this module like the earlier modules? Any hints?

oops sorry I just saw that there was another thread awhile back that addressed this question.

Right, Dawn. We don’t currently have plans for updating module 4 on the schedule. If/when that day comes, however, I probably wouldn’t switch to Guerber books because they would be pretty long to fit two of them into the one year: both Middle Ages and Renaissance.

My biggest hint / tip for using module 4 is to not worry about using Famous Men for the younger grades; they will get enough with all the other great books listed.

    Hope this helps!

I have one who will be 11 next year and the rest are 9 and younger. Would it be alright if I just assigned the 11 year old to read the Famous Men stories independently or should I just forgo them altogether?

They work really well as independent reading after the family spine since the spine lets them know where the FM fit into the history. They are interesting people and the stories are not hard to read, so I would have them read it. =)

    Thanks that helps
