I wanted to make sure I read this correctly before ordering the guide for module 1 history. Is this being revised? I want to purchase this but will have to wait if a revision is going to be released soon.
Thanks,
Penny
Sonya ShaferModeratorYes, Penny. We’re adding some different books and rearranging the readings some, plus the second edition will have pre-reading reviews and end-of-term exam questions included. I’m hoping the second edition will be ready by March 2010.
Cindie2ddsMemberOh, wow! I completely missed this! We were just going to start Module 1 Gen. thru Deut. after Christmas. My dd really enjoys the Old Testament, especially Moses and Noah. Are the majority of the books used in the current edition going to be used in the new guide? How major are the changes? Any details would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
Sonya ShaferModeratorCindie, I’ll see if I can get a comparison chart up on the site tonight or tomorrow. I’ll drop a note here when it’s ready for you.
Cindie2ddsMemberThank you so much!
JulieParticipantugh!!! I just ordered the guide for module 1…..I would like to see a guide as well.
mrsjamiesouthMemberSonya told me I could return it if it is under 30 Days or they might be offering some sort of discount for those who have the older version and want an update.
JulieParticipantoh good…I just ordered mine yesterday.
Sonya ShaferModeratorOK, ladies, I’ve posted a new chart that lists the books for the revised module (scroll down to the second chart on the page), and you can see a quick comparison of the current handbook vs. the Second Edition handbook that will be out by March 2010, Lord willing. Please let me know if you have any questions.
jpkr, that’s right. Feel free to use the 30-day money back guarantee.
Cindie2ddsMemberSonya,
I really like the changes. I am sending you a pm with some questions. Thank you!
mystika1MemberHI,
The Changes look great but if I am interpreting the chart correctly the changes are big as far as grade 1 is concerned. I would hate to start the current version and then interupt our flow with something really different. I see that most of the chosen history books have been replaced by Boy of the Pyramids. I was planning on starting history after new years. Should I stretch out Genesis for a month and then begin Boy of the Pyramids at a super slow pace until the release of the new edition guide?
Decisions, Decisions.
Cindie2ddsMemberI was thinking the same thing. From what I can tell, in Term 1 the only book used, other than the Bible, is The True Story of Noah’s Ark. Everything else is used in Terms 2 and 3. Since Term 1 is really a Bible study, we are going to start and do Term 1 only. When the new guide book comes out, I will probably repeat Term 1 since it’s going to include history. I think repeating the Term 1 will actually be great for young ones.
Anyway, this is what we are doing. I would love to hear what others who are going to start in January have decided to do.
ETA: Boy Of The Pyramids starts in Term 2 in the current edition.
Sonya ShaferModeratorWe just posted the news that you will be able to upgrade to the new handbook for half-price if you’ve already bought the current handbook.
Also, regarding what to do until the new handbook is ready, I just sent each of you a private message.
