Intro

Hi!

My name is Anna. My husband Dan and I have 4 children, ages 6, 4, 2 and 5 weeks! I was homeschooled growing up and have always desired to teach my own children at home. I am now blessed to be able to do just that and even more thankful to have found the teachings of CM before we even got started.

I was introduced to CM methods a few years ago while researching the many various homeschool curriculums. Overwhelmed by the amazing number of choices out there, I was so happy to find and read the Original Homeschooling Series by CM. Her methods just MADE SENSE to me!

Taking CM’s advice about not starting formal schooling until age 6, I planed a very “light” kindergarten year for my oldest daughter (even though she already knew how to read). This year, now that she is 6, we are using a combination of AO Year 1 and the wonderful SCM History/Bible/Geography sequence. I love the study guide for Genesis thru Deuteronomy!

I’ve been reading here for a few months now and I’m so glad that I found SCM. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed what I’ve read here. None of my homschool mom friends use CM methods and they think I’m kind of strange for not purchasing a big, expensive textbook/workbook system. So, it’s great to have a community like this to be a part of.  I appreciate all of the advice of the more seasoned CM parents as well as the questions by us newbies. So, thank you all. 🙂
