I wanted to share what I have discovered! Some of you may already know! I found these adventure books by Adventures in Oddessy! So they are Christian based! Hooray! My son really likes Magic Tree House. I don’t care for the magical part. But love the adventures in History side!
These books are called Imagination Station. The first one is about the Vikings, the next on the Romans, then China, and then Medevil Times. I have to check if there are more. You can see them on Amazon.
Have Fun!
TiaParticipantThank you so much for suggesting these! I ordered one. My dd really loved the Magic Treehouse books. I read them aloud to her when she was younger but I became too uncomfortable with some of the content. She was very sad when I explained we couldn’t read them anymore (I’ve learned since to do a better job pre-reading) Anyhow, I had been thinking about them again because now she would be old enough to read them herself. But my dh and I still weren’t comfortable with it. I think these will be a nice replacement. Thanks!! 🙂
SueParticipantHow wonderful! We love listening to the radio program, “Adventures in Odyssey,” but I didn’t know they had a book series. Thanks for posting.
Wings2flyParticipantHas anyone read these Imagination Station books? Are they good? My son is getting to about this reading level and I want to know how they are before I buy. He is liking the books by Clyde R. Bulla like the Sword in the Tree.
mom2fourboysParticipantThese books are great. My 7 year old son read the first book in a day and was hooked. He has since read volumes 2-4 and is now waiting for me to order the next two in the series. They are very similiar to Magic Tree House books in format and story-line but they are christian. So, if your child liked or likes the Magic Tree House books, I think they would love these too.
HopeMemberWe just bought some of these after reading several good reviews. I’m excited to read them with the kids.
amandajhilburnParticipantThanks for the reminder about these books. I just ordered them for my children. You can get the set of 6 for $14.95 from Library and Education Services…just fyi 😉https://www.libraryanded.com/
Laura.boraParticipantThank you Amanda!! Those would make a perfect stocking stuffer! We always put a book in the kids stocking. I had forgotten about these books.
chocodogParticipantYes thanks amanda for the sight.
Wings2flyParticipantYes, thanks for the sight, Amanda. And they have Drive Thru History dvds for $11.79, best price I’ve seen on those.
More specifically, I was wondering how well-written they are and if there is any bad talk from the characters, like what is often found in newer books. I will go ahead and order at the great price Amanda shared.
