Seeking Allah, finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity by Nabeel Qureshi. Really good read on the mindset of the Muslim faith and their thoughts on Christianity. “A Case for Christ” from a Mulsim perspective.
Undine by Friedrich de la Motta Fouquee. I like reading classic original fairy tales.
The Quarter Acre Farm: How I Kept the Patio, Lost the Lawn, and Fed My Family for a Year by Spring Warren. Funny and good read about growing your own food.
Currently reading Trusting God with St Therese by Connie Rossini. Some really powerfull stuff in here so far. I have a lot of quotes writen down.
Also currently reading Mary: When Love Came to Town by Lianne Blanch. Fictitious story of Mary (sister of Martha), her life growing up and encounter with Jesus.

Almost finished reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It is like nothing I have ever read, but I am enjoying it. It was suggested by my mom, and she was told to read it by my brother. My brother was in town 2 weeks ago, and it started some great discussions.
I really like Hidden Hand – I did not want to put it down.

Anna – I just read your list and saw Atlas Shrugged was on it. It is a very different book, but I am enjoying it

Charlotte Mason Education by Catherine Levinson (Finishing up More Charlotte Mason Education this week and then starting Shepherding a Child’s Heart by Tedd Tripp…also slowly working on The Original Homeschooling Series. I feel like I have book ADD lately haha!)
I read CM Education for obvious reasons. 🙂

So, this past weekend I was in the mood to take a break from all the heavy reading and try somethihng lighter just for fun. I decided to try Parnassus on Wheels. It was delightful! I finished it and started on The Haunted Bookstore last night.
Thanks so much, everyone, for sharing what you’re reading. What a wonderful way to find new treasures to add to our favorites.
I have The Hidden Hand all downloaded and ready to read as well. Has anyone here read Ishmael and Self Raised? I remember loving them and devouring them in one weekend years ago. The story reminded me a lot of David Copperfield.

I am reading “The Life of Charlotte Bronte” by Elizabeth Gaskell. It is one of the few biographies written in the 19th century that I have attempted and I am enjoying the writing style. It is definitely a more complex and literary style than I am used to reading in that genre but it’s an engrossing story.

Christy-Did Ishmael remind you of David Copperfield?
Has anyone read any of the lesser known Eleanor Porter books? I was actually inspired to look for more books by her while reading The Haunted Bookshop. I found that she wrote quite a few books and many of them have good reviews. I downloaded several and am looking forward to trying them out.

Just finished Invicible Louisa: The Story of the Author of Little Women by Cornelia Meigs. For some reason I had it in the back of my head that it was a newer book — maybe because the listing on Amazon said 1995. But as I read I kept thinking, “This is excellent writing! It feels older.” So I flipped to the copyright page: 1933! Delightful biography of Louisa May Alcott.
Now I’m starting In Memorium: Charlotte M. Mason after finding it on a used-book listing in my area. Such a vintage treasure! It still has some pages uncut, and I’m using book darts to mark passages I want to highlight. No way am I writing in that copy! Filled with tributes and reminiscences of Charlotte, her work, her humor, her quotes, her life.

Oooh, I’d love to find a hard copy of that, Sonya! It’s on the AO website and I’ve read parts but it just ain’t the same as holding it in your hand, ya know? 🙂 I don’t think I realized that it was actually a printed book.
