Misty – based on what you have said about yourself, get the teacher’s manual just to be sure.  =)  I am thinking that I will have to make sure to have one with everything grammar-wise from here on out.  lol  I am not very good at diagramming, etc.  I am going to do Latin, though.  Michelle has convinced me that there is a place and reason for it.

Kudos to Michelle for the scripture verse!!  😉  I would never have thought of that.

    Hi Misty,

Concerning the Easy Grammar, I can’t tell you a whole lot about teacher involvement.  My son was self-motivated so he read the lessons himself and did the practice.  If he had questions we would go over it together.  My daughter was another story, but generally she did it on her own.

What I liked about it was that the lessons were short and then they did practice.  It sort of reminds me of Math-U-See.

All I had was the Teacher’s Manual.  The answer key was on the left and the student worksheet was on the right so I had my child cover up the answer key with a piece of paper and covered the student sheet with a plastic sheet and used a dry erase marker for marking down answers.

As to what level to put him in, I don’t know the answer to that.  I used this when my children were much younger and before I knew about CM methods.

    Hi Misty,

I would second getting the teacher’s manual, as it is your answer key also.  As mentioned, you could get just the teacher’s manual since it contains all the workpages.  You likely won’t have to be too involved – Easy Grammar doesn’t move along too quickly and the explanations are clear and thorough.  You can just jump in at whatever grade level you’re in.  Easy Grammar Plus would likely work fine.

So you think even though we are a bit off, I am guessing that just going ahead with the Easy Grammar Plus would be fine. Also, just get the teacher manual and cover with plastic! Yes I love that you also think like me.

Do you think we should just start with the EGP in 8th grade or do the 8th grade books 1st? (if there is I haven’t looked that close yet?)

thanks I am thinking of this and one other option as I am waiting for some feed back from the compmany

    Hi Misty,

I’ve only used the elementary books, but I know with those you just start in whatever grade level you’re at.  It sounds the same for Easy Grammar Plus.

I am hoping someone will chime in here who has successfully used Easy Grammar Plus.  Anyone?
