I would like to make some word magnets similar to the magnetic poetry you can purchase.  I know that I could use the printable magnet sheets, but they seem so thin that they would be difficult for little fingers to use.  (I have trouble moving the magnets.)  Any other ideas of what I could use or how to make them?

These are still pretty thin – but cheap:  we get magnetic calendars, etc. in the mail from realtors and other businesses in the area as part of our junk mail every now and then.  I cut those up into strips and paste paper onto them and voila – magnetic words!  I have also used the magnets that come on the back of magnetic refrigerator notepads – when the notepad is empty, I use the magnet.

I also use these magnets to glue onto the backs of some photos that I want to keep on my fridge.

However, I know that you can buy a sheet of magnets at craft stores like Michael’s.

    Hope this helps,

    Tanya
