My kids are age 16 and in 10th grade. They have not done narration or written narration as described by CM. Do they narrate from the books they are reading on their own? If so, how much should they read before they do a narration? It seems that CM advises that they write in as much detail as possible thereby learning to write like the authors they are reading. She also seems to suggest that narrations come from stories-things beautifully told, not textbooks. Would you have them choose an exciting section from a chapter they read or the whole chapter?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I have a lot more questions. 🙂

    Thank you!

This is the best series of encouragement I’ve ever read as far as CM’s suggestions on narration and moving toward composition in the upper levels.
