I don’t have a child that age yet, by my, 6 year, being advanced for her age seems to think she is a teenager already.  So we definitly deal with character issues.  One thing I have found helpful is focusing on a new character quality each week.  https://blog.apologia.com/rachaelcarman/character-qualities/ has a section on character qualities.  I don’t use the coloring sheets but, I printed each pre-colored image of the character qualities, placed them in sheet protectors and I hang a new one up on my handmade clip board each week.  I also copied and printed the devotional/reading material for each one.  (I keep them all organized in a binder).  I read over that before the start of the week.  On Monday, I introduce the C.Q. and we talk about what it means.  On Tuesday, we discuss the C.Q. again and look up the corresponding verse together (which I write on the school board in the space designated for C.Q.’s.  On Wednesday, we review the brief description and verse and she will copy the verse in her writing journal.  On Thursday, If I can find a book or story that drives the C.Q. home, then I will read it (but I don’t go nuts trying to find one each week).  Basicially, it’s something that we talk about all week, on the forfront of our minds.  It has been helpful for us.

Thanks so much ladies.  i think we have decided to read Little Britches series as a family.  I am also convicted to spend more time in prayer for this situation.  It is going to have to be a softening of his heart and I can’t do that.  Parenting is HARD WORK!!!

    Thankful for you ladies!!
