Not sure where I should post this.  How do you do a morning basket time when you have young children in the mix?  My kids are 8, 5, 3.5, and 1.5.  The younger 3 are boys and very active.

I keep it short and let the littlest ones go when they get wiggly.  Or I do it in the afternoon during nap time.  Or I bribe the little ones.  Embarassed

I do ours still sitting at the table from breakfast. My older ones (almost 7 and 4.5) clear their dishes, but my 2.5 year old stays in her highchair. Once she finishes eating, my oldest gives her a table activty (rotating weekly). We spend about 40 minutes or so.

Our morning basket time is very short and only includes a short Bbible reading, scripture memory, and a short read aloud. 10-15 miuntes. My younger (DD3) one eats slow so she is still eating during MB time.

We move on to other studies after this, which the younger one can be excused from if she wants, but she is expected to sit quietly and eat during the short MB time. This is a big habit training item for us with DD3 (and a major purpose that the MB serves!).

Here’s a blog post about it:
