How do chapters in Burrell's 3 books compare to Oxford Ancient History?

I purchased the three books by Roy Burrell (that were mentioned here on SCM as being about the same thing as the Oxford First Ancient History book) since I couldn’t find the Oxford book for a reasonable price. In the SCM History guide, of course it states what chapters are to be assigned from Oxford’s. Just wondering if that would be the same chapter in Burrell’s books?? The guide starts out telling you to assign Chapter 6 in Oxford’s, which appears to be about Egypt in Burrell’s book and that doesn’t seem to “fit” since we studied Egypt extensively last year. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
houseofchaosParticipantIf you pull up Oxford First Ancient History in the bookfinder, it gives you the names of the chapters:

There are further divisions, however, that the chapters are broken down into. Let me know if you want those.

simplicityParticipantNever thought of doing that! That’s just the info I needed. Thanks!
Sara B.ParticipantUgh… Just realized we’ve been reading sections 2 & 3 in the 1st book of the 3 (because we couldn’t get the big one), which is NOT the same as chapters 2 & 3 in the big book. Ugh….. No wonder there’s so much evolution and junk in there! I was really starting to wonder why I bought this book.
csnoverParticipantI have “On the Threshold of History” by Roy Burrell and we are using the Genesis through Deut. and Ancient Egypt handbook. For week 2 it says ‘Oxford first Ancient History, ch 2a.’ Where is that is On the Threshold of History? I tried looking at the Oxford in the bookfinder but still had difficulty. Is there a link to a more detailed breakdown of the Oxford book so I can figure out where to read in the Threshold book? Thanks so much for any help! Cara
SharonParticipantI was wondering that too, csnover. I *think* it is the last pages BEFORE the chapter of Sumer. There is a map of the area and it talks about Mesopotamia in the first paragraph and shows a drawing of people carrying jars of water. (I don’t have the book in front of me to find the exact page).
