    Hi

I am currently in the process of looking for homeschooling’s informations for my son. I live in Costa Rica, I am French, married to a Costa Rican, we have 4 boys and one of them, (9 and 1/2 years old) is a pianist. He has just taken the decision not to go to school anymore to dedicate himself to the piano in an intensive way, so we’re looking for a system that could be the best for him. I guess every system is different and I would like a simple one for an enjoyable atmosphere to finish his academic path while developing his artistic talent. Sometimes he must travel, participate in concert etc, so we need something quite flexible. Thank you for giving me as much information about Charlotte Mason’s program. Does it exist a Spanish version?? Is there an other program for artist children????

    Thanks for helping me !

You have a great question, oresta, and a unique situation. The Charlotte Mason approach can be very flexible and enjoyable, because you can put together your own program to fit the needs of your family during this season. The place to start is with the Curriculum Guide. It gives ideas and suggestions for resources you could use.

I’m not sure how many of those resources are available in Spanish. Does anybody else have an idea?

On a more personal note, what pieces is your son working on now? Does he have a favorite composer?

Thank you Sonya, I will check on Curriculum Guide.

Anyway I will have to take some english class before I think to be abble to help my son and he will do the same !!!

The pieces is working on now are : “June” Tchaikovsky (Barcarolle) and The Chopin Military Polonaise OPUS 40 #1. His favorite composer is Chopin!!!

    Have a good day !

Good for him! Chopin is such a challenge, but can be so much fun too. 🙂 I love listening to Vladamir Horowitz and Andre Watts play Chopin.

I agree Sylvia, I think Chopin was the first music study we did because I really enjoy his music!
