For those of you who have read this book, is it CM compatible – living, interesting, accurate stories?  I know that it has some evolutionary thoughts in the beginning, but is the rest pretty good?  Is it chronologically correct? Look forward to hearing from you…. Thank you!!!

I found it to be great for CM type reading and narration.  It starts with some evolutionary stuff at the beginning – you can skip that and still find the rest of the book to be good.  In fact, in the time it was written was back when people generally assumed church attendance and he references reflect this.  Since it covers different areas of the world at a similar time it spans around the globe for a given time frame.  Generally it is chronological though.  I liked the book.

I have this book and have used it for several years with my kids. The stories are engaging. It is chronological and often refers to what is going on in one place while telling about another place or event of the same time.

Does anyone have a schedule they made up that they’d be willing to share for which section from the book would match up or compliment a day in one of the SCM history modules?  Does that make sense what I’m asking?

Melissa, I don’t have a schedule of it, but I usually look up the person or event in the index and decide if I want to include it or not. Just yesterday I looked up John Cabot, and there was a chapter that included him, and I was able to use it.

Ahh, good to know.  The reason for my asking is because I bought it after reading about it here and it just came yesterday.  I haven’t had the chance to cozy up with it yet, but I’m glad to know it has an index. 🙂
