Having trouble with the scheduler

I am setting up the CM organizer and having trouble. I was able to assign the math books (that were in the system) to my students, but I can’t seem to add a resource. I added a number of resources: a game, a website, bible memory system. I can browse added resources, but I can’t seem to assign them to a student. I click on the resource and hit  assign to a student, I even put in the days I want them to work on it-but it doesn’t show up under the students on the left in the scheduler. Can someone help? I’m so excited to start using this! Thank you so much!

Are they assigned for somtime in the future?  Do you see them at all under the “Scheduler” tab?

Did you make sure you entered ALL the information when trying to assign it to a student?  (I know I reported a problem at one point that they didn’t save right if you missed something – maybe the start date or something like that – I don’t remember which)

TLCmom – there are some tutorial videos you can watch – they are very helpful.

what may be happening is what suzikimom mentioned – are you scheduling them for now – today? or for sometime in the future? if your start date is not today or in the past, and the resource is not scheduled for the day of the week you are currently on you won’t see it on today’s daily plan (today is monday, for instance, you would need to have the resource start today or sometime before today and be scheduled for mondays to be able to see it). otherwise, it will pop up for you automatically on the appropriate day in the future that you told it to start.

hope that helps  – try the videos! they are great. once you get the hang of it, it’s wonderful 🙂

I checked your account and I can see the resources you added, but they aren’t on your schedule. When you scheduled them, did you see a “Resource scheduled” message? As Suzukimom mentioned, there is a bug currently with the error that is supposed to show if you miss some of the information while scheduling. If you don’t see a message saying the resource was scheduled, you’ll need to reload the page and schedule it again.

And here are the videos that others have mentioned.

I don’t think I saw a “resource scheduled” message. I’ve tried a few times to reschedule them and I’ve watched the videos many times. 🙂 I thought I saw in one of the videos that for the resources you only need to fill in 2 boxes ( I believe) to be able to schedlule it, but I will check again. They are not scheduled for today, but for tomorrow, but I thought you can click a link to see what is scheduled for tomorrow-but not further out than that. Also, I can click on the kid’s names and see the books I have scheduled for them (only the math books so far), wouldn’t I see the resources I have assigned for them in the same place on the scheduler (not the daily) even if it wasn’t the day for it? I hope I made sence. Thank you! I will try again.

Yes, they should show on the “Scheduler” tab.

    Did you fill in –

    1. Subject
    2. Study Method
    3. Start Date (or Start after/Use with)
    4. Some days of the week?

I think I was missing the Study Method when I was having problems…..

I figued it out. I didn’t realized you had to list divisions to be able to schedule it. I have another question. For something like a math game that I want my daughter to play once a week, and I’m not sure how long I want her to continue this. I just make a number of divisions and if we decide to continue after that, I just edit that resource and add more divisions?

You can do it that way, or you can make a resource with no divisions by clicking the “No Divisions” button. Then just mark the resource as worked on each time you do it. When you’re done with it, you can mark it finished. Either way will work.

It’s also pretty easy to make extra divisions, then just “remove” the resource when you are done. And in the reports it will only show what WAS completed.
