At out convention last weekend I found a series of books. I bought the first one as I am impressed at how easily I was able to understand it. It is called

Home Education in Modern English Volume 1 of Charlotte Mason’s Series. Written in 2005 by Leslie Noelani Laurio. Apparently she has rewritten with very little paraphrasing, all 6 volumes! I have just started this one and I loaned out my original series, so I can’t compare them side by side, but so far it looks good-

has anyone here read or heard anything about it??

Yup!! The original series as well as the modern version are both available for free to read through the Ambleside Online website. I only recently discovered these myself and have been slowing working through volume 6 (the modern version).

Have you noticed the topic at the top of the forum? A few are trying to read and reflect together on the original writings, in whichever form you find most helpful. We’ve started in Volume 5, and are just beginning, as you can tell by the posts. Maybe you’d be interested.
