So we bought the HAnd Sewing DVD for our daughter for Christmas, and I noticed on the list of matterials online was “Eight cotton fabric fat quarters”.  Is this all for one project, and what are they making?  I want to grab all the materials so it can all be under the tree Christmas morning.  Knowing the answer to those questions will help me pick out what to get.  Thanks!!

The eight fat quarters is the total number needed for all the projects that use cotton fabric on the DVD, not just one project. Inside the DVD case should be a booklet with all the details so you can see what is needed for each project. There are 8 sessions walking you through 5 projects total: a simple-hem blanket, a button bag, a whip-stitch pillow, a drawstring bag, and a four-square blanket. The 8 fat quarters are used for everything except the pillow, which is felt. Of the 8, 5 will be used together for the final project, the four-square blanket, so you’ll want those 5 to coordinate. The other 3 fat quarters can be whatever colors you want.

Does that help, or just muddy the waters? The booklet will hopefully clear things up. Smile

Thank you so much Sonya!  That helps so much.  I was hoping not to open and look at the booklet inside the DVD case until after she opened it Christmas morning, and I wanted to make sure I had all the materials and equipment available under the tree, because I know she’s going to dive right in, and I won’t see her again until the next day if I’m lucky because she’ll be too busy sewing!  I know she’ll love this DVD as much as she loved the crocheting one we got her two Christmases ago.  Laughing

Don’t you love it when you know they’re busy creating with their hands? Enjoy!
