@Sue it is not that much work at all, if you put them in water the colors come right off, very gross. Anyway, I wish I could cut sugar altogether but it is hard.

The amount of sugar and processed food ingested in this country is very scary. More scary than Halloween if you ask me!!

We had fun last year doing some candy experiments – see the above link for some fun ideas.  One of our favorites was the simplest, just put different types of candy onto a paper plate and microwave – see how they all behave.  Be careful, of course!  Hot candy can burn – mom should be the one handling the plate.

@JenniferMason – we also eat a lot of our halloween candy LOL.  It is a treat for us as we don’t eat a lot of candy generally.

We also don’t celebrate Halloween, however the grandparents still like to mail the girls candy anyway. Wouldn’t want them deprived of the sugary treats. Undecided But we only allow them to pick a couple treats when the pkg arrives then we put it away for occasional treats on movie nights etc. Sadly our former church gave out so much candy per week for sunday school rewards (including if they PRAY @@) that we had an overflowing FULL LARGE BOWL to hand out to trick or treaters along with gospel tracts each year. YIKES. I prefer chocolate so of course there were no chocolates left by then. lol
