I am having trouble deciding on resources for next year and how to use/schedule them. I thought I was pretty settles on using the VOS Story Bible for Bible and the Child’s History of the World for World History (Ancients). Then, I discovered Guerber’s Story of the Ancient World. It looks appealing, but seems like it would be redundant if used at the same time as either the VOS Story Bible or CHOW. I like that the Guerber books go on to the Story of the Greeks and Story of the Romans (I like the three year continuation thing), but If I choose Guerber now, I probably should NOT do Vos or CHOW. Am I right? I don’t own any of them yet, so it’s hard to FEEL them out (just looking at samples online). Wouldn’t any/all of these overlap too much to use at the same time? If so, what would you suggest? I have a 7 year old and one who is turnin 9 in December. I’m leaning towards Guerber, but then would we never get to the Vos Story Bible or CHOW? Is there pros or cons to any/all possible scenarios that you seasoned CMers can offer?

    Thanks so much!

We used guerbers ancient book and enjoyed it. It really gives a ton of background and detail. We are going through the Greek one this year because my dh loved the ancient so much. For Bible we are also using vow story Bible. I don’t find the two redundant, but I think you are right that chow would be.
