grade level tweaking/combining kids

Hello ladies-

Just wondering if any of you more seasoned CMers can shine some light on this….have you stuck strictly to your child’s age/grade with curriculum or have any of you found yourselves teaching your younger ones more quickly so they can “catch up” to the older ones and then all be together with lessons?

Although I haven’t formally done this, I find myself wanting to. My dds are ages 5 and 8, and the 5yo is almost done with kindergarten stuff already. She’s bright, but not exceptionally so; I just exposed her to the material all last year and she did it… plus she sits in on “Sissy’s” lessons so often, that she’s got a lot of that down too.
