    HI there, 🙂

Does anyone have a good living book for the nutcracker story for around age 6.  We enjoy chapter books, so it doesn’t have to be a super simply picture book type of book.  We are seeing the ballet in mid December and we really want to read about it before we go.  We are currently reading the Opal Wheeler Tchaikovsky/Nutcracker book, but my daughter wants one strictly about the nutcracker story.  Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

I found lots of great options during the holiday season at Barnes and Noble, if you live near one. I have my seasonal books stored away, but I will be getting the Christmas ones out in December. I cant remember the titles right off, but my girls’ favorite one is a puppet book that they can use to tell the story with.

We have one that was given to us as a gift. The re-telling of the story is very nicely done, and the illustrations are Old World charming. It’s The Nutcracker: A Young Reader’s Edition of the Holiday Classic illustrated by Don Daily and adapted by Daniel Walden. It’s a nice, large hardcover.

I can’t say it’s the very best out there because I haven’t researched many others, but we’ve enjoyed it.

I am looking for a copy as well.  Our library has several books, so I’ve got some on hold and hoping one will work.  We just started Tchaikovsky and are going to see a student performance of the ballet in about 3 weeks.  I am taking both my DD7 and DS4, so I hope to find a book that will interest them both.
