Good Hero biography for 6th grade girl and 3rd grade boy?

    Hi! I’m currently putting the finishing touches on my booklist for the coming school year, and I’d like to know your recommendations for a good “hero admiration” biography for the 6th grade level and also for the 3rd grade level. THANKS in advance!!! 🙂

    My girls (ages 9, 7, 5, 3) enjoyed Carry On, Mr. Bowditch this past year.  Mr. Bowditch starts out as an indentured servant.  Through hard work, determination, honesty, he eventually owns his own ship.
