    Hello,

I am new to SCM and am looking to use the Modern/Epistles year for my 6th and 7th graders.  I am wondering if any of you have used the Genevieve Foster books- George Washingtons World and Abraham Lincolns World?  They are so good and i would like to incorporate them.  Also, I noticed that one of the books scheduled for years 7-9 was written for the 4th grade level- Bully For You, Teddy Roosevelt.  Is that common?  I’m used to the extremely challenging books in the AO curriculum.  I like that, especially for my son who has dyslexia, but also want to make sure their are appropriately challenging books.  I’m sure that they are, but just wanted to inquire.  Thanks!

I have only used one Foster book so far but I would say it was good for 6-7 grade. I understand wanting some books at least to be challenging reading but I also think living is more important than challenging. If they learn and make connections from easier books I think that is fine at least for some of their reading.

    Nebby.
