Has anyone incorporated GW and AL World into Module 6? If so can you tell me how you went about scheduling it?

I know I am full of questions tonight.

My 11yo is in the middle of GWW right now. I just listed the resource, I know it only has like five “chapters” but I just listed it straight out, put a sticky on the inside cover of the book for a reminder that I want him to read approximately 5 pages, and we record it as “worked on” until he finished a chapter. When he’s finished with it we’ll go on to ALW. I schedule this once a week and his history “spine” once a week–we are using Helene Guerber’s history books.

    Full of questions is good!

So are you using these along with the other readings listed in Module 6 for history? Can you tell me about Helene Guerber?

Yes, we are. I schedule a lot of the smaller books—Justin Morgan Had a Horse, for example, or The Sign of the Beaver, or something short—as free history reading and just check off when they are done. I schedule into the weekly schedule, the Foster books, and the Guerber history book we are currently reading. For more info on them, see http://www.nothingnewpress.com/guerber.shtml

Also, I think they are all now entered into the database here at SCM. My son is currently doing GWW and The Story of the Thirteen Colonies by Guerber, will be moving on soon to The Story of the Great Republic.

There are free downloads of Guerber’s books on Baldwin Project.
