i am starting to work on narration with my 6 yo.  i also have a 4 yo who listens to call stories with us and who is very eager to narrate.  the 4 yo actually seems to retain the information better and narrate more effectively than the 6 yo at this point.  my 6 yo is very bright and i’m sure can learn this skill with practice.  i am just not sure who to have narrate first.  i’ve heard have the younger one go first, but i find that there isn’t much left for my 6 yo to tell if we do it this way.  if i have my 6 yo go first, my 4 yo just basically repeats what my 6 yo said.

Does anyone have any examples of how this works with multiple children? thanks so much!

I read a section of the chapter and then just pick one of my three children that are listening to narrate that part.  Then I read another section (or chapter in some cases) and I pick another child to narrate and so on.

I seem to remember reading some other good ideas for narrating with multiple children on this forum under the specific heading of Narration.

    Hope that helps!
