Forum upgrades

I just wanted to let everyone know that we upgraded the forum software over the weekend. Here are a few things that are new:

1. Speed: All of SCM should be loading really fast now.
2. Private messaging: If you receive a private message you will get an automatic notification by e-mail. (I know some of the private messaging links have moved around and are not as obvious. I’m working on that.)
3. Shared Login: If you are logged into the forum, you are also logged into our main site for blog comments. Same goes in the other direction.

It was a pretty major upgrade so I’m sure there are still a few rough edges. Be sure to let me know if you notice something not working.

Speed is great, it works so much better, thanks Doug. Have not checked the other upgrades yet, but they will be useful and make life easier, so thanks.

Yes, the speed is WOW! Thank you. I will enjoy the notification by mail. SCM is my most visited website these days. 🙂 Thank you for your hard work.

Oh, I also installed a spiffy new visual text editor. Now you can use things like bold, italic, and links without having to type scary codes. Just click the buttons. You can also do lists:

1. First in a list
2. Second in a list
3. The last list item

You can do blocks of quoted text:
