My kids love to play spy and solve mysteries. I stumbled upon a resource that might make our science curriculum for next year. It comes in an elementary and middle school version. I’m thinking it could make a great class for our CM co-op. what do you guys think? Anyone used this book?

    Christie,

The co-op that my older girls took part in last year used the first book with the jr/ sr. high kids, and it was a smashing success.  The mom who lead the class brought in a policeman that she knew from church, set up a crime scene in a room where the kids rarely entered (so they wouldn’t be familiar with the room itself and to keep the scene undisturbed), and several other fun projects that reinforced/ further explained the lessons in the books.

    Bottom line, FUN science.

I just pinned this website this morning….   http://sciencespot.net/Pages/classforsci.html

This teacher has units all planned out to do forensic science with the kids.  It looks like something that would be great to build upon.
