So I wanted to do a very family oriented character study with my kids. And I have all the stuff I WAS going to use. But I realized that it isn’t going to be right or enough.
I really need a more all in one type thing. Something that I can read, even do activities to help inforce, and have scripture to back it up. After saying all that it also needs to be veristile with ages from 5 to 13. That’s a big range I know. But I’d like to do it in the evenings with dad.
Any suggestions, books or otherwise you’ve used. Websites etc please give suggestions. Thanks
BookwormParticipantMisty, have you already used the Character Journal resources? If not, take a look here:
http://www.characterjournal.com/
If you like that, then there are free lapbook resources to go with several of the character traits at http://www.homeschoolshare.com
houseofchaosParticipantCharacter Building For Families is good, and inexpensive.
You can read about it and find samples here:

And there is a review here:

4myboysParticipantKids of Integrity from Focus on the Family offers great resources for 16 chacter traits. They include a list of a half-dozen to a dozen different Bible stories and passages per topic; many scripture memory verses to choose from; a list of activities and object lessons; sample prayers for parents, family and children; references for praying scripture and additional resources. It also has a section on discipline and positive reinforcments. While directed at younger children to the age of 10, I’m sure there are many things that could be adapted to your older children as well. The best part is that it is free!
Character Journal looks good, too, and seems to cover more topics, but doesn’t appear to have the depth of resources that Kids of integrity does.
simple homeMemberHouseofchaos, your resource looks exactly what I have been looking for! I like Cathy Duffy’s review, it seems this will be great for all my kids’ ages. Thank you for posting!!
MistyParticipantthanks everyone I will look into each of them
