I have one child that is 5th then 2 children that are each in 2nd and 1st. Then of coure there’s the 2 pre schoolers but I’m not worried about them just yet. 😉

When entering read aloud books into the online scheduler I am not sure how to do it.  Since these books will be new to my oldest I’m sure she will end up listening to the read alouds that are for the younger two. I will probably also do at least one of her scheduled books as a read aloud for everyone as well. Come to think of it I might have *her* read some of the younger one’s books to all of us.

How would you schedule those books?  I’m thinking I need to schedule them for the appropriate person so that it shows up on their records. Then whoever else is listening is just listening. 🙂  Is there a way for me to schedule my oldest as the one reading the book to the youngers?

When you schedule the book for the older to read aloud then when you get to the page that requests method of use, pick ‘Read Aloud to family’ or ‘Read Aloud’.

Would I still schedule it for each of the other children or as family?

I think I am wanting to know if things marked “family” will show up on each individual child’s reports.

If she is the one reading it, then I’d put in under her name and mark it to be read to family. What time of the day to do that will be what needs to be decided.

You can print out a schedule that has “all students”, which includes the family subjects. HOever it won’t show up if you print out for each child their own schedule of their names only.

ONe idea is to schedule that book for each child: for the one reading it aloud, designate it as ‘read aloud to family’; for the other children who get a schedule, customize the designation for that book and that child as ‘listen to read aloud by __'(enter your dd’s name here). That way every child will have that on their own schedule and all you have to do is decide when this happens in the day and gather the pre-Kers, too.

    Does this make sense?

Yes that makes sense.  Thank you for helping me.  I’m trying to make sure I’ve got the most efficient way to do it. 🙂
