Egypt and Suez Canal

Does anyone have any recommendations of books on Egypt — modern Egypt, not Ancient? Our library’s selection is pathetic!  Well, they have plenty of books on Ancient Egypt, but I’m looking for something that would have general info about Egypt – demographic info, pictures of modern day Egypt, that sort of thing……Maybe I should just YouTube it! *L*

And, I’m looking for good books on the Suez Canal.  Our library system has NOTHING! So, I’d like to hear what you’d all suggest.

I’m hoping to find something like what Elizabeth Mann wrote for the Brooklyn Bridge (and other things).
