Has anyone ever used this or any of the others in the series??? What is your opinion of the series? I’m considering using it this year for my dd who will be 8yrs in the fall. Would it be possible to do more than one lesson a day??? We generally don’t do science 5 days a week. I have already purchased Outdoor Secrets and the Companion to use this next year, however I don’t think Outdoor Secrets will take us all year. We have already read some of the Living Books for OS. I will also be using History Module 1 and thought that the Queen’s All Nature Sings might go along with it well since they say it covers Creation, Noah’s Ark, Dinosaurs etc. Opinions Welcome!!!!!!

I have the Walk with Aunt Bessie book, but haven’t used it yet. You can do more than one lesson a day for some of the lessons, others would take a longer time. For example, one lesson might be read 4 paragraphs, the next lesson is color a sheet and the third is research a bug, write about it and include pictures. The first 2 could be easily combined, the third might take longer.

The one thing that truly bothered me about this is that you are not allowed to make copies. I didn’t know that before purchasing. So for all four of my kids to use it, I’d have to buy 3 more books making Nature Study for the year $140. Not going to happen. Otherwise it’s a nice litte program as it guides you through nature. You will, at times, have to do some prep and/or daily work such as investigate/study something on your own. Because it’s a story format, you can’t really skip around in the lessons, you need to follow the order as written. I can see it working well for some families and not for others.

Thanks, Crazy4boys! Is there anyone else that has used this? Would really appreciate any feedback! Thanks!

We have All Nature Sings – I have an almost 7 yo who is a good reader and likes working independently. He has loved it! Some things we work together on, some he does all on his own. Some of the activities he will do just one in a day, others are quicker and he will ask to do more than one. It is very adaptable to whatever style you work with IMO. It is laid back and not too strenuous, so it has been the perfect fit for us this year. Some of the activities are drawing, some reasearch (looking up things on the internet or in other books), some coloring – I like the variety of activities, and I like that it sends him to figure things out from other sources. I was hesitant about it at first because of the price for a consumable book, but I have been pleasantly surprised. If you have other specific ?s I’ll be glad to try to answer them.

Thanks mjemom! I’m trying to figure out if it would work well with SCM History Module 1. I already have Outdoor Secrets and plan to use it, but I know it wont take all year, so I was thinking to use All Nature Sings next year too. It is nice to know that you can do more than one lesson at a time sometimes. I just don’t want to over buy.
