Difference between handicraft and art project?

    How do you define handicraft vs. art project?  When is something a craft and when it something art?  I sometimes have trouble separating this out in my mind.  I guess I feel that a handicraft would produce something usable?  Is that a good definition?

    Well, that’s how I have always defined it. Although I also hold the belief that even practical, usable, ordinary things that are made by hand are also an “art”.

    I agree with Linabean & think the two can be interchangeable. On SCM’s Handicrafts and Life Skills list, some could clearly be defined as Art.
