    I like these!

Wow, these are super cute! I do love the colors — thanks for sharing!

OK, maybe this seems silly, but although I totally love the format and color of these, I can’t get past the thought of how much ink it would use if I actually printed it. Do you guys ever feel that way? There is just so much color, and intense color at that — I have no idea how much ink it would really use, but that’s all I can think of. :/

This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this way. I think it’s the penny-pinching, frugal side of me…but maybe if I looked at it like a worthy investment (if using some pretty things actually meant that I got more done, was more organized, etc.)….

I have issues with ink use too! I want to print certain things (like these) but I get caught up in the ‘oh, that would use so much ink’ thoughts that I can’t bring myself to do it.

I remember when the children were younger, certain computer games would allow them to print fun, colorful things from time to time. I always said no, but for the times it happened ‘on accident’ the children gained much pleasure from what was printed.

Maybe I should just relax a bit and take some pleasure from the printer. My husband has said, ‘what’s the point of a printer if you won’t print anything?’

lol — peterfam, that is so me!! I can totally relate to the thing about the kids’ computer games and printing things! I remember when I actually printed out some coloring pages (of course, that was tolerable because it was only outlined black ink, lol), my kids were so shocked and full of joy because I actually said “yes” to printing something! Yes, I’m pathetic. lol  😛

Please LMK how it works out of if you can enjoy the printer! I’m not sure I’m quite ready to embrace that yet… maybe there’s a way to ease into it? lol

I just said I downloaded everything, not printed it!  😉

I try to be selective about color printing as well… though I’m not afraid to do it for things I know we will use, like picture study prints for dd’s keeping book, or planner materials that I will use and will make me smile throughout my day.  🙂  What was it someone on this forum posted about only keeping things around that are useful or beautiful or ???  Can’t remember now.

    Is this the one?

“If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”

    — William Morris

And that is an excellent point! I like how you said the planner materials would make you smile. 🙂

For my “too much ink” print outs I just download on a flash drive and take it to Office Depot for them to print.  It is not out of my way since it is right around from the library.

This whole convo has launched me into the obsessive “perfect planner” hunt that I go through every year! I want a great, purse sized planner that is also very pretty (so it is a pleasure to see) AND it has to have room for me to write everything…I have yet to find the perfect planner :-(. If it had my name on it, too, that would be heaven!

I love calendars. If everyone just gave me a calendar for Christmas, I would be so happy! I love the fresh, clean, starting over feel of a new calendar. As Marilla in Anne of Green Gables says, “Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it”.

    Okay, soliloquy over…thanks for listening.
