My boys are intereted in the topics CGC, but they don’t seem that keen on a lot of cut and paste.  From time to time they will take a notion to do something crafty, but usually not.  My younger son likes to colour, but with his ADHD completeing is rather difficult for him.  He only finished 2 crafts all year last year in his public school primary class.  Maybe it won’t be such a good fit for us after all.

Thanks for all the advice and recommendations!

I don’t know if it’s still the same or not, but, I used it when I was schooling 14 years ago and I loved it! It was so fun! I still find myself singing the songs from the CD from time to time. There is one song about the planets, it goes:

The planets starting from the sun

    are mercury and venus,

the earth and mars, and jupiter,

    and saturn and uranus,

the next in line is neptune and Pluto after that,

the Lord our God fixed them in space

and he keeps them all in place.

Like i said though, i’m sure the songs have all changed, as we all know Pluto is not longer a planet.

I really enjoyed making the paper “me” with the flap to open and see inside the body. I’d recommend it to anyone!

Here is the link (below) to buy Considering God’s Creation. I just googled it an it came right up.   We are doing it this year and really enjoying it.  There are lots of living books, some simple science experiments and we even purchased the moody science videos.   I am not particularly crafty, but it’s reasonable.  The kids are making their creation notebook as they go!  We love it!!!

Reading these have been so helpful to me. This would be my first year homeschooling a K, !st and 3rd grader. I just received “106 Days of Creation Studies” in the mail but did notice that it recommends  CGC for older children.  I would like to use CGC for the 3rd grader but not sure if I should use it now or wait when the oldest is in 4th and could possibly use it together with my 2nd grader next year? Any suggestions?
