I marked a child’s assignment as “complete” and it seemed to “complete” the entire resource, not just the day’s work. Would this be because I had put no divisions in it? And what type of divisions would you recommend for a typing program that involves repetition of a lesson until it’s mastered – “days” maybe? Thanks.

Yes, if you mark “complete” a resource with no divisions, the entire resource is marked complete.  I just mark “worked on” instead until it IS complete.

As for the type of divisions, if there are lessons, I would put in each lesson as a division, and just mark it off as Worked On until the program says it is mastered.

I make my own divisions often. For piano practice or PE (outdoor play) and the like I make divisions labeled Month and then Jan, Feb, Mar, etc. On the last day of that month, I click finished and the next month pops up. This makes the # of boxes more manageable for me.

For composer study, I use weeks (we do 6). And so on.

My son accidentally marked an assignment as Complete when he was supposed to mark it as Worked On. It was the only division assigned to that resource, so now I don’t see a way for me to get to it to unmark the complete status and change it to worked on. Is there a way for me to do that, or do I have to create the assignment again with the same division? Will this adversely affect the reports at the end of the year?

    Thanks,

Hi, Cindy. We currently don’t have a way for the user to edit her records; that feature is on our wish list. You’re right, you can just re-schedule the resource. On the reports it will show up as Finished on the date he checked it off, then list it again with the second Finished date whenever he checks it off in the future. So if you want to name the resource or the division something to reflect that this one is “part 2” or whatever, you can.
