We are just getting started with a new year and our first with CM/SCM. I have skipped over the notations to add things to the BOC because I don’t have one set up yet. I was going to order the spiral bound option, but was wondering if the cost (plus shipping) was worth it or if I should just stick with the free option? I like having a bit more guidance, but was wondering if anyone had any opinions on it specifically. I know at times I can get overwhelmed if things are too specific, if that makes sense (and on the opposite end of the spectrum too much of a blank slate can be difficult for me as well).

For the record: This would be for a family BOC since my LOs are still young (7 and under). I could just do a timeline on the wall this year, but I selfishly am wanting to relearn as I teach them so part of this is for me as well.

You can download a sample of My Book of Centuries here.

The free version, if I remember correctly, simply has the century at the top of the page and the rest is blank, which is fine if that’s how you like it. I prefer more guidance. Christie did a bang-up job on designing hers.

I did scroll through the sample which is what had me curious if the extras were worth the added cost. I do like having a bit more guidance, that’s for sure!

Renee, I based the thinline version off of what Charlotte’s students did. I added the chart bc I think in lists and it helps me to categorize. I didn’t add blank pages for maps bc we do it seperately. You could make your own on a composition book (see HUFI blog or the PNEU samples online), but if organized charts are your thing, this version might help. If I can answer any specific questions, I’m happy to.
