    Hello families,

My 2 daughters will be doing Foundations in Romans and Discovering Doctrine this year, and I am searching for an easy to read/helpful commentary on the book of Romans and concordance as suggested in the guide. They are in 7th and 9th grades. Any suggestions/direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

My girls used The Bible Knowledge Commentary: New Testament by Walvoord and Zuck. A website that was helpful is Blue Letter Bible. You can access several different commentaries as well as Strong’s Concordance numbers and links on it.

I liked RC Sproul’s St Andrew’s Expositional Commentary – I think it was a compilation of sermons he gave, so it was very ‘conversational’ as opposed to technical/scholarly. BUT…it is also very strongly from a Reformed doctrinal perspective. I’m not sure what your doctrinal leanings are…if you are not Reformed, this probably wouldn’t be a good fit for you, at least not without lots of discussion.
