Chemistry experiments that work?

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like we have more failures than successes with science books from the library. I most recently picked up Janice VanCleave’s Chemistry for Every Kid and we immediately had 2 out of 3 experiments fail on us. It’s the mixture experiments that tend to get us. It seems like if it’s anything more than a volcano, our chances of success are slim. Does anyone have a recommendation?

    Thanks,

    Cindy

I don’t know how old your children are but we have used the Backyard Scientist Series and have always had our experiements work. They also are 90% things you have around your house, so you can a lot without buying a lot of extra things. I used them with my 3-12yr old bunch of kids one year.

    Hope that helps
