For the longest time, when I would try to read the Charlotte Mason series, the “voice” in my head was kind of dull, droning on, and I just couldn’t get into it.  I love the principles, but I couldn’t get past this stuffy schoolmarm figure.  The more I learn though, I’m starting to “hear” Charlotte as an enthusiastic woman who loves children.  I guess it’s coming alive for me, and now I want to read more and more!

Has that happened to anyone else?

I think I’ve always imagined her as having a patient voice. But for some reason I hear her as an older woman, like Vanessa Redgrave. I don’t hear her as young.

Same here!  Vanessa Redgrave has a great voice.  🙂
