How can I put a book back into the scheduler if I checked it as finished ? I put it back in but it won’t let me go past the first chapter – then it checked as finished.  I am not so good at technical matters ! I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Bethany

Hmmm, let’s see if we can figure out what happened. Can I ask two questions first to make sure I’m getting the correct picture?

    1. How many divisions does the book have?

    2. How did you “put it back in”?

If you want to post the name of the book, I’ll also take a look at it if I can.

Hi Sonya, The book is called The Birchbark House and it has 14 divisions. I entered it in again  and thought I would just ignore the other one (?) Guess that doesn’t work. I tried to delete or cancel it but that failed too. I really appreciate your help in this !

Sonya…If I may, I have another question for you in regards to scheduling. We are using 106 Days of Creation but last year we already studied some of the material, so we are jumping around a bit. I can’t seem to figure how to enter that into our schedule. Thought I’d get all my questions answered while I have your attention ! 😉

Oh, I think I see the problem. It looks like The Birchbark House has only one division called “1-14.” If you want all 14 divisions to process through one at a time (chapter 1, chapter 2, chapter 3, etc.), you need to add 14 divisions. Here’s how:

    1. Click on the title of the book and then click “edit” to edit that book’s details.
    2. You’ve already told it to call the divisions “chapter” and that’s right.
    3. Under that where it says “Add divisions”, put 14 in that box and click “Go.” That should add 14 divisions for you.
    4. Now you’ll probably need to re-name the first one to be just “1” rather than “1-14.”
    5. Save your changes.

Now, it’s up to you whether you want to delete the other one off your schedule and add this one, or you can tell the Scheduler that you want to use the revised resource. Here’s how to do that:

    1. Go to Birchbark House on your Daily Plan and click “edit schedule” to the right of that title. That should pop the book back in the Scheduler for you.
    2. You should see your 14 new divisions listed now. So change your “Use Chapters” box to read 1-14 and Save your Changes.

Let me know if something doesn’t make sense.

If you’re “jumping around” but still in sequence, you can simply hit Skip Assignment for the lessons you aren’t doing. Those skipped assignments won’t show up in your reports; it will only show the assignments you have done.

But if you’re jumping around out of order, that may not work as well, because once you skip an assignment it doesn’t show up again at the end or anything. Are you jumping around out of order?

    Hi Sonya,

Yes it worked ! You made the instructions seem so simple. I learned the correct way of entering books into the scheduler. Thank you for the lesson !

As to the 106 Days of Creation I think I have that worked out. I will tell you what I did and if that is not the right way I hope you will correct me. The lessons we worked on were in order, 33-38,  so I put those in as complete. We completed those, they showed up as finished. Then I  put in another 106 Days of Creation as 43-106 lessons. Seems to be okay. If there is a better way and you have time please share. I know you are busy – thankyou for so much your time.
