Can you enter/alter older dates in the CMO?

If I needed to go back to a date and add some information, or enter what we’d done because I didn’t on that day (for whatever reason) is that possible?  Would someone walk me through it?  Thanks.

If you are needing to enter a date that a division of a resource was worked on or completed (that hasn’t been marked as completed) – it is easy.

Beside the Today box, where you would mark it off for today, there is a little triangle to open up other dates it was worked on.  You will see the previous week’s worth of dates, and you can mark it off there.  If it is further back, there is also a little calendar button which opens up a calendar, and you pick a date to add to the list – then you can mark it off.

If you need to change something that has been marked off as complete – if it was the previously done division, you can click on ‘edit assignment’ where it shows the previous assignment.  That will open up, and you can edit that one.

If you have done a few assignments after the one you want to change – you can edit the previous one, and clear all the worked on information – refresh the page, and repeat until you get to the one you want to fix – then reenter the information on all the other ones.  (Usually not worth the effort…)

If you have finished the resource entirely…. then no, you can’t edit it.  (If it helps, you can reschedule the resource – but it won’t remove anything already saved as done…)

Oh that is awful!  We took some spontaneous days off, but even on days like that I like to go in and record what we did and any educational “moments” that happened.  It just completes my record keeping and I like to do it.  I totally did not realize I needed to to that on the day of or not at all.

Doug and SCM crew … any reason why we can’t access older dates to make changes, additions, etc.?

You can’t open up old dates to add notes to the day.  I could open up old dates for assignements not done and then mark them as I wanted but in terms of just opening the old dates and being able to fill in some notes on what we did that day (outside of or in place of our lessons) … I can’t.

I, too, have been frustrated in the past for things being marked off on the wrong day that I can’t go back and change. I hope this is something the SCM team is working to change. You can’t add daily notes to previous days–just the current day. You also can’t go back and add or edit notes to previous assignments–just the current day.

I am also frustrated by not being able to change dates and notes from past assignments. One thing that I have done is to create a resource labeled daily notes, make any needed notes and check off for whatever day I needed to. This way at least it will show up on the detailed report at the end of the year.

We’re sorry about the frustration with being unable to edit past work. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us and letting us know what’s important to you. We always want to know what’s working and what isn’t working for you so that we can prioritize as we continue to make improvements and build new features. Letting you edit your past work is definitely on our wish list too, and we are working on some ideas for how that could look. We can’t say when it will be ready, but it’s something we are working on.

Thank you, Jordan, for listening to us and working hard to improve an already amazing Organizer! You are truly appreciated!

Thanks Jordan.  It really is hard for me not to be able to go back and edit things.  Just the ability to click on a date and have it come up and be able to edit it when it comes up.
