Since we’re doing Middle Ages and Renaissance/Reformation next year, I thought it would be a good year to also do British Literature.

We are considering using the following: Tales from Shakespeare, Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Hound of the Baskerville, Oliver Twist, Ivanhoe, Prince and the Pauper. Robinson Crusoe and Kipling’s The Man Who Would Be Kind have also come up.

Which books would you do if you were doing British Literature? Would love to hear recommendations for certain books or against them. Are any of the ones I listed definitely “don’t miss”? Any I’ve missed that you would recommend?

These would be for my 12 and 13 year old boys to read. I’m planning on choosing 6-8 books for the year.

    Thank you,

We  have read Treasure Island. Black Arrow is on our history list for next year.
Are there certain ones you recommend?

I was thinking about those two, actually.
