I came across this tonight, and was wondering if it’s the same as what you can buy for about $20.  I was so surprised!!  Can someone who has the botany notebooking journal let me know if it’s the same?
    Thanks! https://store.creation.com/common/productpdfs/10-1-529_notebook.pdf

We have only used Jeanie’s Zoology series. However, one thing I can tell you is that with every one of her science books, she has a link on Apologias website with a special code where you can download the pdfs of templates for each book & module. The pdf you found most likely contains those templates. I’ve seen a few of the notebooking journals & they have MUCH more than just templates. The spiral notebooking journals are very thick, assuming most have well over 100 pages. If you like everything laid out for you, they appear to be worth the $20. But if you’re trying to save money, the free templates work great to create your own journal; This is what we did when we went through her Zoology series before she made the printed notebooks. csmamma,

Just out of curiosity (we may use one of her books starting next semester) would you say that you would need a notebook journal for each child doing the course??  Or could one child have  the notebook (having all the info in it and I’m assuming they would write in it and it would be their’s) and the other child use a binder using the templates to create their journal??

Or, do you really need to have each child have his own to get the full affect??  We have time to purchase the notebooks for the two kiddos of mine before we get started, but if money was an issue, could you just buy one notebooking journal and use the free templates for the other child??

We have not used this program, but have 2 of her books (astronomy and flying creatures) and I wanted to use them at some point in the next year.  Thanks in advance for your help.

I think it would be fine to purchase the notebook for just one child (assuming its the older one since there is much more content) and just let the other build his own journal using the free templates. Hopefully someone with more experience using the new notebooking journals can chime in.

Blessings to you and your 3 boys!

We aren’t using the notebook but we use our own. I just have a 3 binder where i keep the pages of her narration and her pictures she draws. So far so good. Anything more and we wouldn’t have time for it. But that’s just us.

perhaps you could do it the easy way and see if you’ll stick with it. then you’ll know if the money invested is worth it or not. Unfortunately we tend to get tired of the same ol, same o so I don’t know how long it would work for us.

I appreciate your .02, Yolanda…I’m sure Alice does, too.

Yah, I tend to get bored with stuff myself (trying really hard not to do that this year)…I never realized that I did that until we began homeschooling, but I suppose I have always been that way.  Thanks for the reality check:)

    Hi alice,

This is nowhere near what you would purchase in the printed journal, but an excellent example. There are crosswords, copywork, color lapbook materials just to name a few things. There is a lot more detail and pages upon pages of ideas that will help your child to have fun while learning.

Hope this helps! God bless you and your family!
