My oldest was public-schooled until mid 5th grade. She’s now in 9th. She loves ‘reading’ history books, both texts and living…but we are struggling with actual work involved with the subject.

We tried doing the ?s, Vocab, Important/People Dates, and a Project in her Streams II book … but it was SOOO time consuming…so we changed to just doing a project per chapter. Right now, she’s on Ch.10…reading a biography on a missionary, then doing a sort of character sketch. Fine.

My question is … I’ve tried and tried to just get her to do a BOC, but she’s still so textbook/workbook oriented that she becomes completely overwhelmed with the creativity/freedom involved in a BOC. I’m wondering…is there something out there we can buy that’s sort of ‘pre-set up’ for her? To kind of give her clues as to what to include, etc.

    TIA,

You might want to look at Biblioplan for Families, they have downloadable timelines and you print of the pages and the pictures are marked already on the timeline so you know where to glue them – they have samples you can look at. It may be perfect for her. Linda
