We have three full bird houses in our backyard; one with baby blue birds, another with baby sparrows, and the last with baby tree swallows. We’ve been checking them every day and watching them grow. However, this afternoon we went out to check on the blue birds and came upon a terrible sight; All five baby birds were dead. They all had their feathers and were just about big enough to leave the nest. They look perfectly intact, meaning, no signs of violence from another critter. Do you have any idea what could have caused this? We’ve witnessed both parents caring for and feeding the birds; Of course today, there’s no sign of mom or dad. We have never witnessed this before and my 8 year old ds wants an answer to what and why this could have happened. All I’ve been able to do so far, is dry his tears. 😥

Oh GOSH!! I am sorry but I have no words of wisdom to give. I don’t know anything about birds.

By the way we just received the Tirzah book today and my 6yr dd stole it from my hands after I read the description and has already read the first chapter. She teasingly said she isn’t going to tell me anything about it, that I have to read it myself.. but she is unwilling to give it up so I can have a chance. 😆

Thank you for blessing our family,

I’m so sorry, that must be very difficult for your kids. The only thing I can think of is perhaps the parents brought them something to eat that was contaminated with a pesticide or other chemical poison. 🙁

Maybe you’re right about the pesticides; I can’t imagine what els could have happened. Thank you for your compassion ladies. My ds would assure you that we had a proper burial yesterday evening. 🙂
