Hi -We are going to be studying birds this year with 6 y/o and 4 y/o, I was wanting some coloring pages for them to color of the birds we study.  We are going to read Thorton Burgess Bird Book and then study about the bird in that chapter.  Do you have any ideas where I can find coloring pages for the specific birds?  Preferably fairly simple pictures due to the girls ages.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve found this to be a nice resource for simple coloring pages that could be used to make a “bird binder”:

I second what Anna posted. We used those several years ago.

I have also had some great success with a kind of generic “bird” image like this one

And then we look at color pictures of the birds and try to reproduce their markings on the coloring page – it really helps you remember the bird’s “field marks”.  I like this best when we use watercolors – just on plain printer paper, though, nothing fancy.

Explore our growing, original collection of bird colouring pages for kids of all ages – really simple outlines for younger kids and intricate bird in habitat colouring. I have downloaded the coloring pages of bird for my DS so that he can able to know the other living things. Here i the link

This is one of the best activity for. I make hm busy doing this activity on weekly basis.

We found this website to be a useful guide/supplement to the Burgess Bird Book:

    https://mysouldothdelight.wordpress.com/2013/01/04/burgess-bird-book-study-guide/’

There is a helpful study guide (many great resources are listed in the guide), coloring pages, prints of the bird and audio of the book.

May you enjoy your time studing birds!
