Beginning and Ending Dates

  • Hi,

I’ve recently signed up for the trial month of using the CM organizer. As I input my books I see that I choose a beginning date and I also see how I choose how many days per week the book is to be read. My question is this, how do I know when the book will be completed. I’d like to make sure certain books are read during the first, second, and third terms. If I’m not reading a book enough during the week I’m may fall behind, or contrarily, I may be cramming too many read alouds into one week. I’d like to be able to see the Big Picture, start and finish dates for the entire year, if we were to stay on track. Is that possible with this planner?

Great question. The CM Organizer’s strength is its flexibility. It isn’t “date driven” so much as “task driven.” It doesn’t show an ending date because that date can change according to how life happens. If you miss a day, no problem, it rolls the scheduled chapter to the next time. If you get wrapped up in the book and read extra chapters, no problem, just check off as many as you read and it will automatically adjust to the next chapter after that.

As far as planning goes and making sure I don’t have too little or too much scheduled during a term, I like to use these steps described in our blog posts Your Term and Your Week.

    Hope this helps!
