My sons are building the potato canon. We purchased the materials but then the book went missing. Does anyone have this book that would be willing to help me with this chapter? I’m going to scour the house again this afternoon, but if you have the book and can help, private message me, please. I’ll check back later. Hopefully, by then I’ll be able to say I FOUND IT!

    Thanks!

Heather, that’s great. It’s the chapter on building the potato cannon. But is it long? Are you able to just scan that chapter and email it to me? Let me look one more time, though, because I know that as soon as I ask you to do something, I’ll find the book. Isn’t that how it goes?

    Thanks!

Oh Cindy, I’m so sorry I don’t have a scanner. Does anyone else have the book and a scanner? If you have a specific question pertaining to the chapter, I can try to glance through it and answer it for you. Let me know….I hope you find it.

Okay, I give up. But I did find a website (HowStuffWorks) that explains what we need to know. So, thanks Heather, but you are off the hook! Thanks for offering, you are always so kind.

I’ll just say be careful about bringing it in the house if it’s loaded, stuck, and you don’t think it will fire. It could go off, shoot the potato all the way across the house, bounce back across the house and nearly hit someone and barely miss fragile things. No, it wasn’t me. But we know someone who did that–twice! 😀

Bwahaha! 🙂 I’ll be careful. Thanks for the heads up so we don’t end up with a heads off!

    Cindy,

I do have a scanner if you still need the pages from the book. Let me know and I will get it to you ASAP.

Thanks, I was able to work it out. I was wanting to know the physics behind it so that my ds could write a report; we found that on HowStuffWorks. We got it made and while I was thinking, “Well, this will be a cute thing that might work a little” my sons proved me wrong! Their first potato went from the front porch over the barn, into the horse pasture; about 1,000 feet. It was hilarious to see the horse peek around the corner as if to say, “Excuse me?!”

    Have a great Monday!
