Baby Shower Etiquette

I had one baby shower after the fact….baby was a month or so old.  But I INSISTED that they all wash their hands before entering the house and NOBODY was allowed to touch him.  They knew this upfront.  He was borderline premature, born in December, and there was no way I was playing the germ game.  Like you, however, I felt trapped into having the shower so I made some rules ahead of time.  At least to my face everyone was very willing to not touch and wash.  They wanted him to stay as healthy as I did and all made comments about what a good idea it was to limit contact, etc.  They (again, to my face) I was being a good mom.  You should have seen me with Baby #4 who really was premature and had spent 3 weeks in the NICU.  Talk about crazy germ-a-phobe mom!!!!
