Hi, everyone! My family and I live inside the perimeter in Atlanta, and we have 3 kiddos – 6, 4.5 and 1. We’re somewhat new to our homeschooling journey and have found ourselves settled into a combination of CM, classical, and some TJED. I’ve tried a coop here (not specifically CM), and haven’t been 100% pleased. It seems pretty difficult to find any CM-ers locally looking to get together for occasional group learning opportunities. There appear to be lots of groups for strictly classical (Classical Conversations is big here in ATL), and for unschoolers. There are a couple of CM schools around, but I was hoping to find some like-minded homeschooling families also with which to enjoy outings, field trips, joint-learning, etc. I thought I’d reach out here to see if anyone is interested?

    Hi!

We are part of a non-CM co-op, but I’d love to have some community around CM teaching. We are inside the perimeter as well, and our girls are 5 and 3.  🙂

    Hi, Sarah!

Thanks for responding! What co-op are you a member of? We’re still trying to find one that fits us here. Would you be interested in getting together (maybe playground or nature preserve?) in the next couple of weeks to meet? My email is Courtney.Milam@gmail.com. I’d love to hear what your pans are for CM teaching, too. Happy New Year!

Hi – I’m late to the conversation but wondering if you found any good groups!

Hi! I am late to this as well, but I know of a CM coop.  We didn’t participate this year but will in the fall.  They meet in Tucker right OTP at a park on Fridays for nature studies, author studies, artist studies, and handicrafts.  I am sure they will have some playdays this summer as well.  I am looking to go to some myself with my dd 6, ds 4, dd 2 and ds 8 months.  We are officially starting SCM this summer and my dd especially needs some homeschool companions.

    Hey Moms,

Did anything become of this thread?  I would LOVE to get some CM support.  Let’s see what we can make happen,

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Sarah,

I am part of a CM coop near Intown. Also, some of the kids used to go to Intown.   We are starting back after Labor Day.  We meet on Fridays and do nature, picture, composer, and Shakespeare studies together.  If you want more info you can email me at cj.girton at gmail.com.  There is also a CM book group where they are reading some of Charlotte Mason’s volumes.

    Thanks,

    Crystal
